Fordyce Trail Run - October 31st - November 1st 1998
Overview:

This is NOT a NCRC sponsored event, heck this is not even an event. I am personally going to run this trail the dates specified. If you choose to run this trail on those dates, then it will be a wonderful coincidence.  Any person or vehicle travelling this trail may be subject to bodily injury or vehicular damage. Travel at your own risk.  Please do not run this trail without front and rear recovery points. Long wheelbase vehicles may find this trail challenging. I would recommend any vehicle travelling this trail to have differential protection. Tie rod protection a plus.

The Trail is fourteen Miles long and is usually run in two days.  The trail starts at the Eagle lakes exit off I-80 near one mile west of Cisco Grove.  The 4WD trail ends at Meadow Lake, a one-hour drive back to Nyack, Ca.

Itinerary

Sat 11:00am - Arrive at Eagle Lakes Trailhead.

Sat. 12:00am - Head out to Fordyce Trail

Sat. 3:00pm - Arrive at first Fordyce creek crossing. Camp and hang out.

Depending on difficulties running the trail, this time may be later.  Two weekends ago I ran the trail to this point  in about 2 hours 30 minutes

Two years ago I ran this trail and it took 6 hours 30 minutes to get to this point (although it was raining lightly which made the trail incredibly difficult)

Sun. 10:00am - Leave camp. Travel remainder of trail.

Sun 5:00pm - Arrive in Truckee for dinner.

Sun. 6:30 - Head home.

End of Trail to Nyack MapTrail

-
Notes:

If all goes exceptionally well, we could be complete the entire trail in a single day. (unlikely though)  I would rather stay and camp Saturday night in either case.
